Trail Camera kingy.
Yes I'm still alive! Its a very long time since I posted here on my blog. I've been recently experimenting with a trail camera on behalf of an Elderly friend who isn't very mobile himself. He loves wildlife and lives in a prime location for many species of birds and mammals. Daily visits by a kingfisher to his house located on a local lake is the reason for this post. Yes, I could use my pop up hide and shoot using my Digital SLR and get superior photos and video. But that isn't what I set out to do. I wanted to help get him some pictures with his own kit. So let the challenge begin!
After many different set ups and some improvisation with the camera lens, we have some pretty good video and still shots. The camera cost just £70. Which is pittance for a camera nowadays. I think we've done OK. See what you think. Comments most welcome.

Bearded Tit Juvenile taken at Far Ings 7.7.14.
Quite a few beadies around this morning at Far Ings. Managed to grab a few shots from the path before they were off. A few flocks came through, but never hanging around long.

A few distant shots of Marsh Harrier display over barton reed bed early this morning. Spectacular acrobatics. Great to see and watch.

Snipe and Kingfisher at Far Ings 9.3.14.
Managed to get out for a few hours today, not a great day photography wise but I enjoyed it none the less. A pleasant, bright sunny day at Far Ings. I heard a Bittern booming on my way along the Humber bank. Not the first to be heard on Far Ings this year as they've been booming a couple of weeks by all accounts, but still a nice to hear and a sign that the spring and summer is approaching us again.
